The inspiration for this square metre is the beauty of bare concrete walls and the atmosphere in construction sites.
I loooove construction sites. When rooms take shape and let you guess what they will be used for, when the trades are busy whirling around and creating great things, when it smells of plaster and the soft draught passes through the walls. Drawn plumb lines, cables, spackled holes in the bubble of time between an architect's design and being ready to be part of a full life. Great.
Many nuanced, sometimes thick layers of acrylic, charcoal, oil pastel on linen.
